Commercial Units have one main public/visitor entrance into the building. Entrances are either electronically access controlled or within view from a staffed reception desk or office. Audio and or visual link back to the reception will be determined by local crime risks.
Space on the outside and inside of the entrance doors will be well illuminated during dark hours.

Entrance and exit doors installed on the development will all be certificated to one of the following standards: • PAS 24 • STS 201 • STS 202 BR2 • LPS 1175 SR2

These are the minimum required standards. Dependant on perceived crime risk, particularly out of hours, additional security may be gained by utilising further protection such as roller shutters or grilles certificated to the latter two of the above standards.

It is often the case that the developer will not know who the occupier of a unit will be or the nature of their business. However, regardless of this, the minimum standards mentioned above will apply.
