Car Parking
Cars should either be parked in locked garages or on a hard standing within the dwelling boundary, preferably behind a gate. Where communal car parking areas are necessary they should be in small groups, close and adjacent to homes and must be within view of the active rooms within these homes. It may be necessary to provide additional windows to provide the opportunity for overlooking of the parking facility. (Sect 16. New Homes 2010)
The communal parking area allows access to the vulnerable rear elevations of the dwellings.
Garages or in-curtilage parking is provided for some dwellings.
Parking spaces are well overlooked by residents using the car park.
Small communal parking areas are provided adjacent to users properties.
The small communal parking area is gated and well lit. Areas of concealment are avoided and landscaping is used to protect the adjoining garden fence.
