Abbey Protect has received accreditation for its innovative SECURABLIND Defender range of Blast Protection and Forced Entry Prevention blind systems for windows and doors. A specialist solution, SECURABLINDS patented blinds are used by governments, military, police and individuals the world over to protect their people and property.

The SECURABLINDS Defender products range offer an ideal replacement for the all too often unsightly window bars and grilles and they are fire safe, turning any window into a fire evacuation route with the gated or sliding types. They can be planned in at the design stage or retro fitted to any building, even listed buildings. SECURABLINDS blades work equally effectively fitted horizontally or vertically to suit requirements and easy access allows windows to be opened for ventilation and cleaning.

Also ideal for residential use, the SECURABLINDS Defender products offer unrivalled forced entry protection and aesthetically perfect available in a range of styles to suit any window, whether it be a fixed Grille, Sash, an opening Gate or a 2 Door Slider.

Manufactured in the UK, SECURABLINDS products have been tested and accredited by the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) for forced entry prevention and blast protection against 100kg and 500kg TNT equivalent. About the SBD accredited products

• SECURABLINDS Defender Gate - a left/right hand hung gate or double gate security blind, internally fitted behind a building’s window for forced entry prevention. Comprising of steel outer and inner frame, aluminium blades, high tensile rods (which create a barrier of protection), stainless steel hinge pins, shoot bolts and a locking bar (which clamps the blades shut), it is aesthetically pleasing compared to physical security systems, appearing as a conventional window blind.

• SECURABLINDS Defender Grille – a double lock grille or fixed grille security blind, internally fitted behind a building’s window for forced entry prevention. Comprising steel outer and inner frame, aluminium blades, high tensile rods (which create a barrier of protection), stainless steel shoot bolts, and a locking bar (which clamps the blades shut), it is aesthetically pleasing compared to physical security systems, appearing as a conventional window blind. The Fixed Grille has a fixed internal panel when access to the window is not necessary. The Double Lock Grille has a lock on both sides of the panel, so it can be removed for access to the window by unlocking both sides and carefully lifting out. Due to the way the inner panel is positioned when installing this allows this product to be fitted into windows where they may be minimal room to manoeuvre and where a SECURABLINDS Defender Gate might not be able to be installed.

• SECURABLINDS Defender Slider – a two panel/door horizontal slider security blind, internally fitted behind a building’s window for forced entry prevention. Comprising of aluminium outer and steel inner frames, aluminium blades, high tensile rods (which create a barrier of protection), stainless steel shoot bolts and a locking bar for each set of blades (which clamps the blades shut), it is aesthetically pleasing compared to physical security systems, appearing as a conventional window blind. The Slider has two inner panels which slide back/in front of each other to allow access to the window.
