Another industry first for Solidor

In an industry renowned for being incredibly competitive, Solidor continues to lead the way yet again, this time by securing the UK’s first fully licensed stable doors accredited by the national police crime prevention initiative, Secured by Design (SBD).

Stable doors offer a level of functionality and style that traditional door panels simply cannot match. However, due to a stable door’s two-part split construction, foam-filled panels require special reinforcements in the centre of the door in order for it to remain secure.

Solidor CEO, Gareth Mobley, says: “We’re committed to giving our customers the highest levels of security as standard and the Secured by Design certification for our stable doors is further evidence of this. Working together with Secured by Design to achieve this accreditation, we are reaffirming that our customers are buying the most secure composite doors available.”

SBD works on behalf of Police Forces around the country using proven crime prevention principles to reduce crime by creating secure environments and ensuring products like doors and windows meet robust physical security standards.

SBD Senior Development Officer, Mick Reynolds, says: “To achieve SBD status these stable doors would have had to pass a series of rigorous, physical tests by independent laboratories to achieve Police Preferred Specification status.”
