Arden Windows’ new boiler improves carbon footprint and cuts energy bill
Secured by Design member company, Arden Windows, a volume manufacturer and installer of high-performance timber windows and doors, has installed a replacement Biomass boiler system to improve its carbon footprint and reduce energy costs.
The new boiler will enable the company to burn sawdust extracted from their automated CNC machinery and any other timber waste created as a bi-product of its manufacturing process.
The energy generated will heat its factory in Coventry and automated paint lines.
The installation, which was carried out by Talbotts, commenced at the end of May and was completed during the week ending 18 June.
Managing Director, John Sidebottom, explained: “This installation will enhance our movement towards our carbon reduction targets enabling us to recycle our own waste, and significantly decrease our reliance on external energy resources. The significant investment is part of our current growth and reinvestment strategy over the next three years.”
Having been appointed to the top job during a senior management restructure last October, John has set the company on course for ‘significant growth’ during 2021.
In their June 2021 newsletter to customers, John declared that Arden Windows has been busy and has a ‘very good order book’ going forward. “Whilst there is pressure on the supply chain both from availability of raw materials and cost inflation, we are facing these challenges head on and at the moment do not anticipate significant disruption,” he said.
Key company objectives are applying a ‘new dynamic and proactive approach’ to improve efficiencies and reduce waste whilst maintaining the highest standard of quality in products and services and maintaining business critical certifications.
