Communal security door specialists Bamford Doors heads towards ten years with Secured by Design

Bamford Doors, which is the longest established communal door manufacturer in the UK, first became an SBD member company in January 2013 and was one of the first companies to receive SBD accreditation for a communal door.

The company specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of SBD communal solutions, meeting the needs of local authorities, housing associations, builders, private landlords, schools, student accommodation and other public and private sector buildings.

One of its most recent projects was for Darlington Borough Council which chose Bamford Doors as its preferred supplier to provide new communal security doors to accommodation blocks which had become outdated and required upgrading. Bamford installed robust and fit for purpose products, accredited to STS 202 SBD standards.

With their Head Office and factory based in Stockport and branches in Bristol – serving the South West and Wales, and Milton Keynes – serving the South East of England, the company has an equally impressive record for its active and varied programme of supporting charitable causes.

Every month, Bamford Doors provides a donation to a charity called Your Local Pantry, a network of community food stores, which effectively provides a ‘subsidised supermarket’ for residents to help them save money on their food bills. It has also been involved in the distribution of toys to children who may not otherwise receive a Christmas present – with a total of 1000 toys being distributed to Adra, PA Housing, East Devon District Council and Together Housing Group.

Bamford Doors has also joined forces with two other key partners, CAME KMS and CAME Entrotec to give away two complete communal door entry solutions installed free to improve the security of two community buildings – a refuge for young, single parents in North Wales and safe accommodation for young people affected by homelessness in North East England.
