Double win for Secured by Design member company Frame Fast UK at Local Business Awards

As well as being crowned Manufacturer of the Year for a second year in a row, Frame Fast picked up the Entrepreneur of the Year award for founder and director, Paul Brighouse.

“We are so pleased with our double win at the awards this year,” says Nigel Leivers, Director at Frame Fast. “It’s a real testament to the whole team to win the Manufacturer of the Year award twice, and we couldn’t be happier for Paul with his award win. It’s a well-deserved celebration of all his achievements over the past 25 years.”

Based on Ascot Drive, Frame Fast UK is not only the leading fabricator of PVCu and aluminium windows and doors, but also renowned for its glass production at its local manufacturing facility. Its Eurocell Logik / Modus PVC-U Window Range have obtained the coveted Police Preferred Specification accreditation.

Nigel continued: “Derby is the UK’s centre for manufacturing, and it was the world-class manufacturers Rolls-Royce who judged the Manufacturer of the Year award, making the win even better.”

The glittering ceremony for the East Midlands Chamber Derbyshire Business Awards celebrate the stand-out businesses across the region.

SBD is a police-owned organisation that works on behalf of the Police Service throughout the UK to deliver a wide range of crime prevention and demand reduction initiatives.

SBD plays a significant crime prevention role in the planning process to design out crime in a wide range of building sectors. It has achieved some significant success including one million homes built to SBD standards with reductions in crime of up to 87%.

SBD have many partner organisations, ranging from the Home Office, Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government and the Police Service through to local authorities, housing associations, developers and manufacturers and work closely with standards and certification bodies to ensure that their publicly available standards actually meet the needs of the police and public alike.

Products must be subjected to vigorous testing and auditing by an accredited third party organisation before being allowed to carry the SBD logo – this is the only way for companies to obtain police accreditation for security related products in the UK.
