GBW adds third doorset to its Secured by Design accredited range

GBW Panels, one of the leading panel, door panel and external composite door producers within Europe, has added a third doorset – Colordor Q – to its products accredited by Secured by Design (SBD), the national police crime prevention initiative.

From its modern 37,000 sq.ft. factory in Worcester employing 70 people, GBW has an annual output of 100,000 panels and 10,000 composite doors. These are used predominantly in domestic homes in both the new build and renovation sectors covering private and social housing as well as the commercial new build sector.

The company exports 30% of its products to continental Europe making them one of the largest exporters in their specialist field.

GBW has some 38 years’ experience in the manufacture of door panels and more than 18 years’ experience in manufacturing external composite doorsets. Operating under the quality management assurance system, EN ISO 9001:2008, GBW has had its products extensively tested and holds all the major quality standards. They have been members of SBD since 2005.

Mark Godfrey, Director of Sales, GBW, said: “We are thrilled to have yet another one of our door products accredited by SBD.

“The introduction of Document Q of the Building Regulations and PAS 24:2016 brought challenges to the window and door industry. However, with a company ethos based on performance, security and innovation, the challenge was overcome with the launch of Colordor Q, bringing the first PVC-U feature panel glazed doorset to achieve these standards.

“Colordor Q now joins the Discovery Door range and the Resist 30 Fire Door offering a trio of SBD accredited doorsets available from GBW.”

SBD Development Officer, Emma Snow, said: “We are delighted that GBW continues to be an SBD member company and has added another product to increase their SBD offer.”
