Durham Constabulary, Hertfordshire Constabulary, Northamptonshire Police, Leicestershire Police, Thames Valley Police, Dorset Police, Lincolnshire Police and West Midlands Police were all represented at the September 2020 national delivery of this specialist crime prevention qualification as the Academy returned to face to face delivery after the recent COVID-19 lockdown period.
Guy Collyer, Head of the Academy said: “The Academy is delighted to be in a position for facilitating face to face delivery with delegates again whilst maintaining stringent safety measures to keep delegates and trainers safe. Requests for classroom-based learning that’s delivered locally continue to be provided by the Academy but to meet changing needs, we’ll also be offering the option for virtual delivery of accredited qualifications and bespoke events.”
The Level 4 certificate in Crime Prevention for Practitioners qualification is relevant for those who’ll provide specialist crime specialist advice within their role. The content of the qualification includes the role of crime prevention in the community based on a problem-solving approach; evaluating the use of security products in crime prevention; conducting residential and commercial surveys; working in partnership to undertake an Environmental Visual Audit; and running a crime prevention initiative. The Level 4 qualification also provides a stepping stone to the Academy’s Level 5 Diploma in Crime Prevention – Designing Out Crime.
