Olympic triathletes take delivery of Secured by Design Asgard Bike shed

Olympic triathletes Non Stanford & Aaron Royle have taken delivery of their new Secured by Design accredited Centurion Bike shed from Asgard.

Secured by Design (SBD) member company, Asgard Secure Steel Storage, continue their help and support of athletes by installing an SBD accredited bike shed for British & Australian triathletes, Non Stanford & Aaron Royle.

The brief is a familiar one for Asgard – Non and Aaron needed a large secure outdoor storage shed to house their sports equipment and other household items, clearing up space in the garage to transform it into a training den.

After checking out the space and storage requirements, the SBD accredited Centurion storage range seemed to fit the bill. Offering high-security storage, the shed features a fully galvanised (weatherproof) construction, built from the inside-out, with steel deadbolts (5-point locking system), a secure snap-off security handle, and a full heavy-duty metal floor. Under rigorous testing, these tough security features were awarded LPCB level 1 status, Insurance approval, and Secured by Design accreditation, perfect for storing high-value items away from prying eyes. The additional loading ramp, wooden subfloor, and integral bike rack maximise the space, making it easy to manoeuvre bikes in and out.

With any metal shed, the risk of condensation is always a possibility, However, Asgard's superb internal ventilation system reduces the risk, by maintaining an internal airflow even when fully locked, keeping internal moisture to a minimum.

Stuart and Peter, two of Asgard’s installation team, had the unit up, bolted down, and sealed in no time at all.
“The base was not perfectly level on this installation, but we levelled up with the supplied spacers in no time at all, the doors operated smoothly and locked perfectly with a couple of spacers on one side, we bolted to the ground and we were done.” Stuart Leddy, Asgard Installation.

“The Asgard shed has been a game changer for us. It gives us peace of mind that our bikes and racing equipment are as safe as they can possibly be, whilst also providing us with a practical and functional space that we can use on a daily basis.” - Non Stanford, Olympic Triathlete.

Olympic triathletes Non Stanford and Aaron Royle get the best metal storage, - an Asgard Police approved bike shed.

“As always it's really good to meet professional athletes, I am always inspired, and interested to hear about their training regimes, the level of dedication these guys have is amazing! Non and Aaron were looking for a large secure outdoor storage space for all of their garage contents - a combination of sports equipment and general “stuff” but they had limited space available. Non and Aaron picked the Centurion bike unit, and it fits like a glove down the side of the existing garage, and I have to say looks perfect in grey, ideal for lawn mower storage, bike storage, garden storage, or anything that needs storing in a secure manner”. - Andy, Asgard Storage.

SBD Technical Manager Alfie Hosker said: “I am delighted that Non and Aaron loves their new Asgard bike shed. The fact that this shed meets the Secured by Design Police Preferred Specification provides further comfort that their bikes and equipment are being stored with extra security. I wish them both all the best and every success in future events”.
