“Our partnership with Secured by Design reflects our unwavering commitment to enhancing personal safety across communities"
Personal safety and lone working app specialists, PanicGuard, are one of the latest companies to renew their membership with Secured by Design (SBD), the official police security initiative.
With teams located internationally in London, South Africa, New Zealand and North America, PanicGuard have developed their vision to keep people safe at work, home and in their local communities.
The company’s aim is to make it easy for both individuals and companies to reduce risk and protect themselves using easy to access mobile apps. This has translated to over 100,000 alerts raised in 22 countries and in 15 languages since their inception in 2010.
PanicGuard joined Secured by Design in 2011, and have seen both their PanicGuard and HollieGuard personal tracking apps accredited.
The PanicGuard solution is tailored from the ground up to fit into the user’s existing security services, offering value-shifting technology in the personal safety marketplace.
In 2015, in conjunction with the Hollie Gazzard Trust, PanicGuard launched HollieGuard, a free app which transforms a smartphone into an advanced personal safety device. The Hollie Gazzard Trust, a charity helping to reduce domestic violence through creating and delivering programmes on domestic abuse in schools and colleges, has seen the app downloaded by over 500,000 people. HollieGuard is a powerful tool to combat social violence, and is now recommended by police forces across the UK for those experiencing domestic abuse and stalking.
Kevin Barton, CEO of PanicGuard, said: “Our continued partnership with Secured by Design reflects our unwavering commitment to enhancing personal safety across communities. The accreditation of both our PanicGuard and HollieGuard apps by SBD underlines the effectiveness and reliability of our technology in offering robust security solutions. We are proud to provide tools that empower individuals and enhance safety, especially in vulnerable situations. Our global reach and the success of our apps in diverse languages and regions underscore our dedication to making safety accessible to everyone. Renewing our membership with SBD is a testament to our ongoing mission to innovate and lead in the personal safety space, ensuring our users feel secure wherever they are.”
Lyn Poole, Secured by Design, commented: “I'm so pleased that PanicGuard have renewed their SBD membership with their safety apps, PanicGuard and HollieGuard. What they provide with the two apps, in today’s climate with violence against women and girls at the forefront of many people’s minds, is security that is discreet but effective.
“For domestic violence, many UK Police Forces recommend HollieGuard, and PanicGuard is a simple mobile-based application that provides the ability to put security in the user’s hands. I look forward to working with them over the next term of their membership.”
