A UK-based company specialising in providing perimeter technology such as barriers and bollards to prevent vehicle attacks, has renewed its membership with Secured by Design (SBD), the national police crime prevention initiative.
Heald Ltd, based in Hornsea, East Riding of Yorkshire, is one of the largest manufacturers of security equipment in the UK with a global client base which includes military sites, presidential buildings, palaces, embassies, border controls, airports, oil refineries, stadia, banks, shopping malls and government buildings.
The company has been in business for 30 years and has won a range of awards for its products. A recent award win being for their product, the Matador, a revolutionary sliding bollard system, which is installed at sites across the UK and globally.
Managing Director, Debbie Heald, said: “We are delighted to renew our association with Secured by Design once again. To have UK Police recognition for our products is important to us as we seek to protect people and keep them safe in this country and overseas.”
SBD works closely with UK Police Forces and a wide range of other organisations including National and Local Government, British and European standards authorities, the construction industry, trade associations and manufacturers to achieve sustainable reductions in crime through design and other approaches to enable people to live in a safer society. Since its launch 28 years ago, SBD has adapted its approaches to keep pace with changing patterns of criminal behaviour.
SBD is the only route for companies to obtain Police accreditation for their products in the UK.
Alfie Hosker, Development Officer, SBD, said: “It’s great to have Heald continue their membership with SBD and to support them in their work to make people and places safer.”
