Police CPI at The Security Event
Police Crime Prevention Initiatives (Police CPI) are partnering with The Security Event to once again present the ‘Designing Out Crime Zone’, which will showcase the latest techniques to reduce crime and keep local communities safe, at the NEC Birmingham from 25 – 27 April.
The Designing Out Crime Zone is a unique opportunity for attendees at the event to discover best practice around crime prevention and learn about Police CPI and its initiatives, which include Secured by Design (SBD); SBD’s Police Preferred Specification accreditation scheme for products or services that have met recognised security standards; the SBD Secure Connected Device accreditation scheme for IoT products; the SBD Alarm standard for alarm installers; the Police Crime Police Academy and the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS).
Police CPI will also be hosting a series of seminars over the course of The Security Event in The Designing Out Crime Zone theatre, which are free for all visitors to attend. These include daily seminars on:
- Martyn’s Law: Cost Effective Compliance
- Attack Resistant Crime Prevention
- Internet of Things (IoT) and the Current Threat Landscape
- Become a Police Preferred Alarm Installer
A panel session at 12:30 each day will see experts looking at where the physical security and cyber security worlds collide, discussing the impact of the Internet of Things (IoT) on physical security and how the problem this presents can be tackled.
There will also be a Live Security Testing zone, in partnership with Element, with the opportunity to watch live testing as Element technicians test the durability of a range of security products during two sessions each day.
Created for the commercial and residential security market, The Security Event brings together a world-class education programme, market leaders and industry experts. The Security Event won the ‘Rising Star’ award at the 2022 Exhibition News Awards.
The Security Event is co-located with the rest of the Safety & Security Series - The Fire Safety Event, The Workplace Event, National Cyber Security Show and The Health & Safety Event – and presents countless options for connecting with new and existing contacts and industry peers.
