Rapid Frame Spotlight: Ideal 70 Range
West Midlands-based Rapid Frame are commercial and domestic suppliers and installers of the Secured by Design (SBD) accredited Ideal 70 doorset and window ranges. We take a closer look at Rapid Frame and their security-conscious product sets.
In 1998, Rapid Frame began manufacturing the Formula One Range of uPVC windows and doorsets, operating from their head office in Walsall. Initially, their products were available for nationwide supply only, until 2009 when the company expanded its operations by launching a retail installation branch in Telford. Since then, they have directly installed their products in thousands of homes across Shropshire and the West Midlands.
Rapid Frame takes pride in its owner-managed business model, which fosters an approachable, knowledgeable, and hands-on approach. They are committed to providing superior service levels and ensuring complete customer satisfaction by going above and beyond. With a policy of supporting the local community, Rapid Frame has built a dedicated workforce of engineers with over 25 years involvement in the uPVC windows, doors and conservatories market, guaranteeing a positive customer experience for all their clients.
Rapid Frame joined SBD in 2011, demonstrating their long-term commitment to supplying products which meet stringent security standards. The Formula One Range includes the following products which have achieved Secured by Design accreditation:
Doors
- Ideal 70 PVC-u Residential Double Leaf Door Range
- Ideal 70 PVC-u Residential Single Leaf Door Range
Windows
- Ideal 70 PVC-U Window Range
The success of the Formula One Range lies in its features – system profile, glazing, thermal performance, security and sustainability.
Rapid Frame’s windows and doorsets offer quality frames that are made from high impact, high performance uPVC. The Ideal 70 profile is fully sculptured, which provides clean and slim sightlines and a subtle design that is suitable for use in various sectors such as retail, new build and specification. The frames are fusion welded instead of being screwed together, which provides better cohesion and corrosion stability, making them more durable.
The core of the system is the main profile depth of 70mm, which is integrated with five chambers. The outer frame uPVC walls are approximately 4mm thick and incorporate two chambers on either side of the reinforcement chamber, preventing thermal bridging and ensuring excellent thermal insulation.
As well as being SBD accredited for security, the Ideal 70 profiles conform to BS EN 12608:2003, ensuring excellent energy efficiency and helping to reduce energy costs for the end user.
A spokesperson for Rapid Frame said: “We value security as much as our customers, which is why we always keep it in mind when designing and manufacturing our products. To ensure maximum security, we utilise multipoint locking systems with stainless steel shoot bolts and hinge protectors as standard features in all our products.”
Ruari Robertson, Secured by Design, commented: “With Rapid Frame having been members since 2011, it demonstrates the worth that SBD membership holds within the door and window industry and the commitment that the company has made. I look forward to continuing our relationship further and wish them every success for the future.”
