Solon security to launch another market first at SBD ATLAS conference

The Check Your Drink test strips, long established as a leading solution for detecting and alerting users to drink tampering, have been a favourite among Solon’s customer base since the company first teamed up with manufacturers CYD & CYD Ltd in 2018 to introduce the product into the police market.

Now, after tireless and diligent work with a globally recognised UKAS laboratory, that partnership has produced the first such product to have its efficacy in detecting date-rape drugs independently tested and certified, leading to Secured by Design awarding their sought-after stamp of approval.

As simple as it is effective, the CYD range allows individuals to use their fingers or a straw to dab two drops of their drink onto the unique detection strips, with an instant chemical reaction producing a change in colour that indicates whether the drink has been compromised. Testing for GHB, Ketamine, Cocaine, and Scopolamine, users receive a rapid reading of the presence, or absence, of the most common substances used in this type of crime, allowing them to take the necessary action.
