Double World and double Commonwealth champion secures her bikes

Over the years Asgard has installed a range of their high-security bike sheds for professional athletes to store their bikes and cycling equipment at home, and Sophie Thornhill MBE is the latest to use Asgard. Recommended by GB teammates and Asgard’s in-house experts, Sophie chose the Secured by Design accredited Annexe high-security bike shed to secure her bikes & equipment.

Sophie is part of the Great Britain Cycling Team and is the reigning Paralympic, double world and double Commonwealth champion alongside Helen Scott, who also uses an Asgard shed to store her bikes in. Born with Oculocutaneous Albinism, Sophie is visually impaired with 7-9% sight. When competing, she is at the rear of the tandem where she is guided by a sighted pilot.

Sophie required a strong and secure bike shed to protect her expensive track bikes, but also has limited outdoor space. After discussions with the Asgard team, the Annexe Secured by Design bike shed fitted the bill.

The Annexe shed features a thick, galvanised, steel construction with an integral metal base, reinforced hinges, thick steel panels and doors, plus a pick-and-drill resistant 5-point locking mechanism. These strong security features help give the Annexe its Secured by Design stamp of approval and is a great way to protect bikes at home. The strong bike shed has Loss Prevention Certification Board level 1 accreditation and UK Locksmith Association approval. The Annexe is Asgard’s smallest SBD accredited bike shed and can hold up to 3 bikes, with a compact footprint of 6ft x 3ft, the Annexe is perfect for small gardens and outdoor spaces.
