From its Shropshire based factory, Universal Trade Frames, which is a family-owned business, has become renowned as a company that delivers top quality and reliable security products. It is proud to have retained the custom of the same customers since it started trading in 1996, marking its 25th anniversary in 2021.

Universal Trade Frames is a specialist Spectus Systems fabricator, providing high quality manufactured PVC-U doors and windows to the trade and built-in security to residential customers.

The Universal Trade Frames product range is extensive. Its windows include PVC-U casement, tilt and turn, flush casement and sliding sash. In addition, there are composite, bi-folding, residential and patio doors. It has a range of aluminium door and window products too.

Wanting to meet the highest standards and comply with the latest regulations has become a bedrock of the company’s approach to business. Every single combination of all products in its portfolio has undergone extensive testing and certification at Telford-based Wintech Testing and Certification, which was acquired by UL, a global safety science leader, in July 2019.

Universal Trade Frames’ certifications include PAS 24:2016 for security, BS 6375-1 for weather tightness and BS 6375-2 and BS EN 1191 for operation and strength testing.

One of the company’s flagship products is the Spectus Elite 70 product range. Following extensive research in technology, legislation and thermal efficiency, Elite 70 is a complete suite of component parts, which enables the design, manufacture and installation of a full range of window, door and conservatory components, all from the same system.

Nine of Universal Trade Frames’ Spectus Elite 70 products – four doors and five windows – have achieved Secured by Design’s Police Preferred Specification for being sufficiently robust to deter opportunist burglars. These accredited products include bevelled, ovolo and flush system profiles.

The Spectus Elite 70 range is eco-friendly and provides an outstanding barrier against heat and noise loss even in the most extreme weather conditions, and offer a range of styles and choices for customers. They also provide simplicity in design and fitting for installers.

During the current pandemic the company has followed Government guidelines rigorously on COVID-19 safety guidelines and has resumed full operational capability with social distancing and safety procedures in place.
