“Continuing our SBD membership underlines our dedication to top-tier standards"
Vista Panels are one of the latest companies to have renewed their membership with Secured by Design (SBD), the official police security initiative.
Established in 1995, Vista Panels are the largest specialist uPVC and composite door supplier for trade across the UK. Over the last 3 decades, the company has continually sought to improve their product performance, manufacturing in a state of the art 75,000 sq ft factory in Merseyside. Investing in new machinery has enabled Vista Panels to maintain consistent levels of quality and provide fabricators and installers with the best possible products for consumers in the domestic market.
The XtremeDoor range by Vista are one of the highest-spec composite doors on the market. The XtremeDoor has PAS24 2022 Enhanced Security accreditation, is SBD accredited, thermally efficient and low maintenance.
As part of their commitment to security, Vista Panels manufacture their door sets under the SBD licence.
Ian Smith, Marketing Sales and Marketing Manager, Vista Panels, said: “Continuing our SBD membership underlines our dedication to top-tier standards. It is an incredibly important accreditation to have if you are supplying door sets into commercial, newbuild and social housing markets. It also gives domestic installers further affirmation the product they are selling to homeowners is of the highest security standards, and as this is our 18th year with SBD we certainly feel we have come of age together with the initiative.”
Hazel Goss, Secured by Design, commented: “It has been a pleasure to renew membership with Vista Panels and Xtreme Doors, who have been members with Secured by Design since 2006. They offer a fantastic range of doors and windows for the domestic market. I am looking forward to many more years working alongside them.”

Secured by Design (SBD) is owned by the UK Police Service with the specific aim of reducing crime and increasing safety for businesses and individuals.
SBD seeks to improve the physical security of buildings and the surrounding area using products such as doors, windows, locks and walling systems along with fencing systems that meet the SBD Police Preferred Specification security requirements.
SBD have many partner organisations, ranging from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities through to local authorities, housing associations, developers and manufacturers and work closely with standards and certification bodies.
SBD is the only way for companies to obtain police recognition for security-related products in the UK, through the Police Preferred Specification - a product-based accreditation scheme developed 25 years ago, which provides a recognised standard for all security products that effectively deter and reduce crime. SBD work with manufacturers and standards authorities to ensure that security standards are current and updated to keep pace with emerging crime trends.
