Compartmentation

Compartmentation is used to improve the overall facility of multi-occupancy buildings by restricting unauthorised access and thereby enhancing feelings of safety and security amongst residents and legitimate visitors. PCCs would achieve the best results by encouraging Local Authority Planning Departments and Police Designing Out Crime Officers (DOCOs) to work together at design stages for developments to reduce criminal and anti-social behaviour; the following key considerations will be required to support the initiative:
