Olympic triathletes Secured by Design bike shed moves with them

Back in 2022, the Asgard installation team helped Olympic Triathletes Non-Stanford and Aaron Royle safely store their bikes and fitness equipment at home in a Secured by Design, Centurion Bike Shed (x6).

With Secured by Design Police preferred specification status, as well as being both UK Locksmith Association approved and Loss Prevention Certification Board approved, Non and Aaron loved their secure bike shed - so much that they wanted to take it with them to their new home.

 Non said: “The Asgard shed has been a game changer for us. It gives us peace of mind that our bikes and racing equipment are as safe as they can possibly be, whilst also providing us with a practical and functional space that we can use on a daily basis.” 

Relocating a 5ft x 9ft Bike Shed

The Asgard installation team carefully dismantled the Centurion bike shed and relocated it to their new property. As the Centurion model uses silicone to ensure it stays super weathertight over time, the Asgard team kept large shed panels together including the sides, the base, and the roof, reducing any potential damage and making it easy to reinstall. 

Stuart Leddy from the Asgard Shed Installation Team said: “Relocating large Asgard sheds, like the Centurion x6 Bike Shed, comes with its challenges, but we successfully managed it. It was great to visit Non and Aaron again and help out our local stars.

“Whilst we were there, we did a little bit of shed maintenance, lubricating the locks to ensure it would work smoothly in years to come.  I remember we really weatherproofed this shed with the optional silicone, which is great for keeping the rain out, but presents a challenge when dismantling. Our solution is to keep the big panels together and only partially dismantle the shed, then you do not have to scrape off and reapply silicone, a real time saver.”

 Who are Non-Stanford & Aaron Royle? 

Non Stanford is a retired British Triathlete, World Champion, and Olympian, who represented Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. With many medals under her belt, Non’s hugely successful career also includes winning gold at the Hamburg Wasser World Triathlon and ITU World Triathlon Series, plus captaining Team Wales at the Commonwealth Games. 

Non’s partner Aaron Royle is an Australian Triathlete, U23 World Champion, and 2x Olympian, making his Olympic debut at the 2016 Rio Games. His successes include podium finishes at the ITU World Triathlon Series and Commonwealth Games. 

What is the Centurion Bike Shed x6?

The Asgard Centurion Bike Shed x6 is a Secured by Design (Police Preferred Specification) secure shed, ensuring security, and helping to prevent thieves from getting their hands on your bikes. This metal shed model features 5-point locking with an EN1303-rated pick-and-drill resisted lock, door claws, deadlocks, and a handle that has been designed to snap off in an attempted attack to prevent entry. This super secure bike shed also features an integral floor that can be bolted to the ground, reinforced panels, doors, and stainless steel hinges.
