Charter Global, celebrating 20 years of innovation

Established in High Wycombe in 2004, Charter Global recognised an ever-changing landscape in the security and architectural industries and saw an opportunity to integrate the two, by manufacturing and installing high security shutters that had an aesthetic that was sympathetic to the modern, sleek styles of new build architecture.

Inaugural range

The inaugural range, Integr8, was soon developed, becoming a leading brand with a robust lintel that can be used in the same fashion as a standard lintel but conceals a shutter curtain inside to create a near-invisible security solution.

As production grew, so did the factory and a relocation to Reading soon followed and in 2011, through developments in lintel structure technology, the Equilux range was launched, offering bespoke solutions to the residential market.

As the Integr8 range achieved LPCB LPS 1175 SR2 & SR3 certification in 2013, the new high security Obexion range was launched later in 2013 and was the first SR5 rated shutter to market, specifically to serve high risk applications such as government, military, museums and the financial sector. 

Obexion Security Shutters have reached several industry firsts, from NPSA (National Protective Security Authority) and NaCTSO (National Counter Terrorism Security Office) and HVM certification for the first anti-ram shutter in the market, as well as successfully attaining certification from the US Department of State – the first UK company to achieve such status for security products.

Innovation was the key when receiving the first security shutter to gain certification without needing auxiliary locks, thanks to the development of unique LockDown Technology to ensure a shutter can be locked in any position.

Secured by Design recognition

The complete shutter range is also recognised by the Police Secured by Design initiative, with a range of products that have achieved Police Preferred Specification.

Inspired by arising opportunities, the team behind Charter Global have remained at the forefront of innovation in design, manufacturing and installation ever since, with new products and new standards of LPCB certification being accomplished on a regular basis.

Now with experience of applying their bespoke products to a range of industries including Transport, Commercial, Utilities, Communications, Laboratories, Defence and Government buildings and to projects all around the World they are proud to be celebrating 20 years of success and look forward to an exciting future of further innovation in everything they do.
