SBD exhibits at LOCKEX 2018 Security & Fire Safety EXPO in Coventry

Secured by Design (SBD), the national police crime prevention initiative, is among the exhibitors at the LOCKEX 2018 Security & Fire Safety EXPO being hosted at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry from 7- 10 June.

Aimed at specifiers, facilities managers, architects, designers, planners, builders, wholesalers, retailers, and those involved in security and safety, there will be workshops, displays, demonstrations and product launches throughout the three days.

A number of SBD’s member companies will also be at the expo – Aldridge Security Ltd, EVVA Sicherheitstechnologie GmbH, HOPPE UK Limited, M Marcus Limited, Mul-T-Lock UK, SALTO Systems Ltd, Warrior Doors Limited, Yale Door & Window Solutions and Union Architectural Hardware (ASSA ABLOY Limited).

SBD will be joining Lockex in the new-to-2018 ‘Pavilion of Trade Bodies’, a 72 square metre space in the heart of the Ricoh Arena, dedicated to organisations and associations.

The Pavilion offers an opportunity for Lockex visitors to discuss all the latest developments in the industry when it comes to certification, accreditation, CPD, inspection, legislation, and anything else pertaining to some of the quite complicated – but incredibly important – side of safety and security work.

Representatives from the likes of the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI), the Door and Hardware Federation (DHF), the National Security Inspectorate (NSI), the Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS), the Security Systems & Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB), the Glass & Glazing Federation (GGF) and UK Construction Week will also be in the Pavilion.

The LOCKEX 2018 opening times as are follows:

Friday, 8 June 10am – 5:00pm
Saturday, 9 June 10am – 5:00pm
Sunday, 10 June 10am – 3:00pm

SBD seeks to reduce crime by combining minimum standards of physical security like doors, windows and locks that achieve SBD’s Police Preferred Specification standard and proven design principles of the built environment such as natural surveillance and defensible space.

Whilst police are unable to recommend specific products, SBD can act as an effective gatekeeper and signposting service to our 650 member companies and their products, which meet our rigorous Police Preferred Specification standards.

Members’ products range from secure and robust doors, windows and locks through to cutting-edge IT products, CCTV components, and shutters and barriers. SBD is the only way for companies to obtain police accreditation for security products in the UK.
