Trustmark.it gain Digital Security Innovator accreditation

Trustmark.it  is the latest organisation to be recognised as a Digital Security Innovator by the Police Digital Security Centre (PDSC).

With 65,000 cyber security attacks on UK SMEs daily, and 41% of UK consumers claiming they will never return to a business that has had a security breach, investing in cyber security has never been more important.

With this ever increasing threat to business, particularly for SMEs who often struggle to find the expertise and funding to implement effective cyber security, the PDSC developed the Digital Security Innovator certification scheme in collaboration with BSI (British Standards Institution) for innovative cyber security companies who can demonstrate that their product or service addresses a recognised security issue faced by SMEs.

As part of their certification, Trustmark.it underwent a robust accreditation process to prove that they met the PDSC’s requirements. They were able to demonstrate that they had taken the necessary security steps to instill confidence in their product and supply chain, and also help end users choose effective and appropriate solutions. The certification recognises that Trustmark.it can provide solutions in the field of digital security which genuinely solve their clients’ problems.

Cheyne Marley, Cyber Development Officer at the Police Digital Security Centre, said: “Trustmark.it has as its lead Marco Soares, who has worked with his team tirelessly to achieve the Digital Security Innovator accreditation. Both Marco and Trustmark.it are to be congratulated on this achievement, and we at the PDSC together with our partners look forward to supporting them in their work.”

Marco Soares, Founder of Trustmark.it, said: “The Police Digital Security Centre accreditation in collaboration with BSI breaks ground towards a new model of trust to the internet. As Trustmark.it provides organisations with the platform to seamlessly demonstrate to their audience the proprietorship of their digital properties, so cybercriminals can no longer digitally impersonate that legitimacy.”

Trustmark.it makes cyber security human-centric, instead of a daunting concern that most people don't even begin to understand.

Trustmark.it's mission is to bootstrap trust and legitimacy to the web in such a way that cyber criminals can no longer abuse the agnostic nature of the web. It provides organisations with the tools to secure their entire digital value chains (B2B2C) through closed and safe environments, where authenticity is standard and cryptographically verified upon reaching their clients.

The PDSC is part of Police Crime Prevention Initiatives, a police-owned, not-for-profit organisation that works on behalf of the Police Service throughout the UK to deliver a wide range of crime prevention initiatives to reduce crime, as well as acting as a catalyst to bring together public and private sector organisations to create safer communities.

As well as law enforcement, the PDSC works in partnership with industry, government and academia in support of the Government’s ambition to make the UK one of the safest places to do business online.

The PDSC is focused on helping SMEs reduce their vulnerability to cyber-crime and fraud by raising awareness about the most common types of cyber-crime and the simple steps they can take to protect themselves. All advice and guidance is consistent with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).
