We are exhibiting at the Homebuilding & Renovating Show
Secured by Design will be running the Home Security Advice Centre at the Homebuilding & Renovating Show from 14 to 17 April 2016. The Home Security Advice Centre will have experts from Secured by Design on hand to give advice to visitors who are interested in protecting their homes. The team will be offering free advice on home security, product specification and will be happy to discuss visitors' building plans and planned security solutions.

Patlock's new TV advert
SBD member company Patlock has recently launched a TV advert in support of their product. It has aired on Yorkshire TV and will be shown on the Home Channel from Monday 14th March to Sunday 3rd April. You can have a look at the advert here:

Care in the community flats in Kent are awarded SBD
A development in Ashford, Kent, comprising 57 care in the community flats for residents aged 55 and above is up for several Borough awards for design and layout. The development also achieved Secured By Design certification. John Grant, Crime Prevention Design Advisor from Kent Police, worked very closely with Pentland Homes on the Design and Layout to ensure that the safety of residents was considered at every stage of the design and build process.

Emplas locks in Avocet for ATK deal
Leading window, door and conservatory supplier Emplas has agreed to exclusively fit Avocet ATK locks on all of its composite doors.
Northamptonshire-based Emplas opted to make the switch in order to ensure its customer base was being supplied with the best possible snap-secure lock.

Operation Shield extended after 83 per cent drop in burglary
Operation Shield, Cheshire Police's wide reaching anti-burglary campaign using SelectaDNA, has been a huge success since its launch in March 2015.
The initiative, which has seen thousands of homes, shops and local businesses protected, has now been extended to include rural homes and schools. It was recently extended to the market town of Frodsham after success in other areas of the county which has seen burglary drop by up to 83%.

Devon Police celebrate 90 per cent drop in allotment thefts
A police project aimed at reducing thefts from Exeter allotments has produced dramatic results.
Codenamed Operation Slug, Devon and Cornwall Police are so pleased with the results that they are now hoping to expand the project.
