Automatrics awarded ACPO Secured by Design membership
Automatrics have received the coveted Secured by Design (SBD) Award for Automatrics MTrack products. Secured by Design welcomes department for communities and local government proposals

Avocet Hardware has praised Glazerite Windows for its decision to fit its ABS snap secure lock as standard on all of its Secured by Design (SBD) accredited doors.
Raymond Pearce, Avocet Hardware’s head of UK sales, said: “Lock-snapping has become a huge issue in recent years and one of the main reasons for its rise in prevalence is the number of double glazed and uPVC doors being sold with locks that simply aren’t secure.”

Unsafe gates, who is to blame?
Gate Safety Week is designed to bring the issue of automated gate safety to fore. Today it is estimated that more than two thirds of all automated gates installed in the UK, fail to comply with latest legislation and could pose a serious safety risk. But who is to blame for these ‘dangerous’ gates?
The simple truth is that no one person is to blame. There are many professionals associated with the installation of an automated gate and every single one of them has a responsibility to ensure that the gate does not represent a danger to anyone that uses it. Cloudview awarded ‘Police Preferred Specification’ status for its cloud-based surveillance solution
Cloudview has become the first vendor to gain prestigious Police Preferred Specification status for a cloud-based video surveillance solution; an award conferred by Secured by Design, the official UK Police flagship supporting the principles of ‘designing out crime’.
To gain this accreditation, Cloudview was required to pass a series of tests to ensure compliance with a strict set of security and evidential standards, as specified by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) Crime Prevention Initiatives.

The Powered Gate Group of the Door & Hardware Federation (DHF) has announced that October 13 – 19 will be Gate Safety Week. But in the weeks running up to the event, the group and its members will be campaigning hard to raise awareness of the risks associated with automated gates.
